Baba Ganeshananda Giri was a great saint who walked on the path shown by Sai Baba. Coming under Sai Baba’s shelter at the tender age of four, he lived with Him for almost three years till Baba attained Mahasamadhi in 1918. He then began to lead the life of a Parivrajaka (wandering sanyasi), spending time in the Himalayas, building temples across India, and working tirelessly to spread Baba’s message. The hardships on his path were many but his faith in Sai Baba led him on.
At the age of 106, Babaji attained Samadhi in April 2016, after launching a project for a magnificent Sai Baba temple near Chennai, also chosen to be his final resting place. Though no longer with us physically, Babaji’s spirit continues to inspire all to walk with firm faith (Shraddha) and patience (Saburi) in the footsteps of Sai Baba towards the ultimate goal of Liberation.
