divine trails of puri

Overview

Puri, also known as “Jagannath Puri”, is one of the four abodes of Lord Vishnu and one of the most sacred places in the Sanatana Dharma tradition. Puri has also been home to various Masters, many of whom have attained mahasamadhi here – Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (the most famous 15th-century saint and an ecstatic devotee of Krishna), Yukteshwar Giri (guru of Paramahansa Yogananda) and Totapuri Maharaj (guru of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa).

This magical combination brings satisfaction to both religious and spiritual seekers, making this sacred place the ultimate destination. What makes this program truly special is its alignment with the Jagannath Rath Yatra — a powerful and sacred event where the Lord of the Universe steps out of His sanctum to bless the world. Held in the divine energy of Puri and in the subtle presence and grace of Mohanji, this journey becomes a transformative retreat, offering deep inner shifts and a heightened connection with the Divine that continues to resonate within long after the journey ends

Jagannath Puri Temple Visit & Rath Yatra

Puri

Shree Jagannath Temple of Puri is one of the most important temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath, a form of Vishnu, in Puri in the state of Odisha.

The Jagannath Rath Yatra is not merely a festival—it is a sacred celebration where Lord Jagannath, along with His siblings Balabhadra and Subhadra, emerges from the sanctum of the temple to bless and connect with devotees from all walks of life. This grand procession symbolizes the Lord’s journey to meet His devotees, breaking barriers and embracing all with divine love.

A unique and revered aspect of this tradition is the Mahaprasad, the holy offering made to the Lord and then shared among devotees. Believed to carry the Lord’s blessings, Mahaprasad is more than just food—it is a sacred gift that purifies the body, mind, and soul. Comprising 56 different dishes, known as Chappan Bhog, it reflects the temple’s rich heritage of devotion and culture. Partaking in Mahaprasad is a deeply spiritual experience, bringing devotees closer to the divine essence of Lord Jagannath.

Rath Yatra presents a rare and cherished opportunity for international visitors. Jagannath Temple in Puri traditionally restricts entry to international visitors. However, during the Rath Yatra, the deities are brought out in a grand procession, allowing everyone, regardless of faith or nationality, to witness and participate in this divine event. This is a moment where the Lord Himself comes forth to meet all His devotees, offering a unique chance for international visitors to experience the profound spirituality, vibrant culture, and deep-rooted traditions of Puri.
