We chant the Gayatri in multiples of 9 with a minimum of 9 repetitions. How many repetitions of 9 is an individual choice. The significance of number 9 indicates the changeless Brahman. Gayatri Shakti is the power pervading the whole universe. Our body is also a universe in its own right. Each cell and each atom is an universe too. Gayatri invokes the hidden Shakti within our nerves and its junctions in gross and meridians in the subtle.
