Vaishno Devi – 2019

Vaishno Devi

Vaishno Devi is a manifestation of the Hindu Goddess Mata Adi Shakti also known as Durga. It is believed that she is the mother who fulfills whatever her children wish for. Hence every year millions of devotees ascend to the Holy cave in the Trikuta mountains in northern India, where she resides. The revelation of the Mother Goddess in the Holy Cave is in a natural rock form which is one at the base but has three heads at the top. These three heads in a natural rock form are known as the Holy Pindies and are worshipped as the revelation of the Mother Goddess. Towards the right of the devotee is the Holy Pindi of Mata Maha Kali (the Supreme Energy of Dissolution) in the color associated with Her i.e. black. The central Holy Pindi represents Mata Maha Lakshmi (the Supreme Energy of Maintenance) with a yellow/reddish shade which is the color associated with Mata Maha Lakshmi. The Pindi to the far left of the viewer is worshipped as the Holy Pindi of Mata Maha Saraswati (the Supreme Energy of Creation). It has a whitish shade when looked at carefully. The Beautiful Vaishno Devi Temple has been built at the cave in the name of Ma Vaishno Devi and is a sight every true devotee should witness during a lifetime.

Vaishno Devi is located 65 Kilometers from Jammu and 13 kilometers from Katra, the main base camp from where pilgrims ascend on foot or on ponies.

Shivkhori Cave Temple

Shivkhori is a cave shrine of Lord Shiva, Khori meaning cave. Shivkhori is located 80 km from Katra and 110 km from Jammu.  The cave is about 200 m long, one meter wide and two to three meters high and contains a naturally formed Shiva lingam almost 4 feet high. It is believed that Lord Shiva himself created the lingam and that any true devotee that visits it will get a blessing of a lifetime. The cave is full of natural impression & images of various Hindu Deities & full of divine feelings. That is why Shivkhori is known as “Home of Gods”.
